The tavern "Kaki Rahi" is located in Pigadakia, 2 km from Alykes and 15 km from Zakynthos town.
The tavern is family-run by the traditional Spyros Vertzagias family, which lives in the region for over 200 years. It is close to the "Vertzagio" Cultural Museum which is run by the same family.
Its exact location is in the center of Pigadakia village opposite the church of St. Panteleimonas which has the healing spa waters.
It was built at the base of the mountain Kaki Rahi and this is where the taverna takes its name. Visitors can taste the traditional dishes of Zakynthos, while enjoying the view.
The taverna is open to all and serves traditional Greek cuisine. Here you can also buy local agricultural products i.e. olives, raisins, wine, olive oil etc.
This excellent restaurant in rural surroundings can be reached by the local village train (Trainaki) which takes you on a pleasant trip with pick up points in both Alykes and Alykanas or you could take a lazy stroll by foot through the village of Katastari and then on to Pigadakia. It can also be reached by car, bike, taxi etc.
